Gwynn Oak resident Keith Felton, 24, is facing a host of charges after he let his anger get the better of him and shot another driver after the two got into a dispute on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 31, troopers were called to eastbound exit 3 (MD Route 2/Ritchie Highway), where there was a reported road rage incident involving shots fired.

Investigators say that upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound parked in the shoulder of the interstate, and it was determined that the driver was traveling east on I-695 when he was cut off by Felton, prompting an argument.

Felton allegedly pulled up next to his victim's vehicle, shot the driver, who was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, as well as his Dodge Caravan before leaving the area.

On Wednesday morning, troopers executed a search warrant at his Gwynn Oak home, where five weapons were seized.

Felton was arrested and charged with:

  • Attempted murder;
  • First-degree assault;
  • Reckless endangerment;
  • Multiple weapons offenses.

He is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center pending his initial court appearance.

The incident remains under investigation.
